PATRICIA GLASER SHEA
Founder / CEO
Pat Shea is a visionary leader who integrates a passion for social impact and business savvy to launch innovative ideas, build community, and lead organizations into the future. Pat Shea's professional journey is a testament to her diverse experience and expertise.
Before founding the Nashville Police + Public Safety Alliance, she was a Partner in Shea Advisory Services. She worked with various for-profit and non-profit organizations in this role, providing invaluable guidance in entrepreneurship, leadership, philanthropy, gender equity, and social justice.
Pat Shea's entrepreneurial spirit and leadership skills were fully displayed between 2018 and 2021. During this period, she was the Co-Founder, President, and CEO of Givful, a technology SaaS start-up that automated workplace giving and volunteering. The Greater Nashville Technology Council named Givful the Start-up of the Year 2020.
Pat Shea's ability to drive growth and stability in long-standing organizations was evident during her tenure as the YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee president and CEO. Over eleven years, she grew the organization's net assets to $10M and raised over $50M, significantly stabilizing the 100+-year-old organization while increasing the number of women and girls served.
In 2010, Shea founded the Women Presidents' Organization (WPO) in Nashville. WPO is an international membership organization of second-stage entrepreneurial female presidents. Under Shea's leadership, Nashville has launched two chapters.
Before becoming a non-profit leader, Shea spent 14 years in for-profit healthcare. She co-founded Echelon Health, a physician practice management company focused on health services for women. Pat also launched two consulting divisions within HCA/Quorum focused on continuous quality improvement.
Pat is a founding director for Studio Bank and serves on the audit committee. She has a B.S. in Business from the University of Dayton. She graduated from Leadership Nashville and Leadership Tennessee. She is the Founder of Nashville's Stand Against Racism and the Co-Founder of Nashville's first Gender Equity Council. Shea is a member of Tennessee's International Women's Forum and Nashville's The Table.
The Nashville Business Journal (NBJ) named Shea one of Nashville's Power 100 for four years. The NBJ has recognized Shea as a Most Admired CEO and Women of Influence/Trailblazer. Shea has been a finalist for Tennessean of the Year. In 2017, Shea accepted Nashville's Annual Human Relations Award and the ATHENA Leadership Award.
HALIM GENUS
Vice President, Programs & Partnerships
Halim Genus is a seasoned professional with a robust background in education leadership and program management. Currently serving as the Vice President of Partnerships and Programs at the Nashville Police + Public Safety Alliance, Halim cultivates citywide relationships with community organizations, government agencies, and stakeholders to enhance public safety.
Previously, Halim served as the Vice President of Statewide Partnerships and Services at Teach For America, where he led the North Carolina program team, driving impact outcomes and operations. He also served as the Chief Schools Officer for KIPP Albany Community Public Schools, managing a portfolio of principals and ensuring the creation of equitable learning environments.
Halim holds a Bachelor's degree in Africana Studies and Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh and completed the National Principal Supervisors Academy at Relay Graduate School of Education.
